Twitter resources for college

Did you know that Twitter can be a great resource for parents and students preparing for college? There are several weekly chats that allow you to get your questions answered about financial aid, college admissions, and other topics before heading off to school.

There are also chats for former students who have questions about repayment options and other post-college issues. Check out some of the resources below:

  • @eduTweetups: This is a directory of events & chats on Twitter around the topic of #highered. This account highlights the latest “tweetups” and hashtags related to this topic.

  • Inside Higher Ed has a higher education Twitter directory, featuring relevant hashtags and keywords to search for based on your area of interest.

  • #CollegeBound Twitter chat: Monday @ 4 PM EST. Topics include standardized tests, college admissions and more.

  • #CollegeCash Twitter chat: Thursday @ 10 PM EST. This chat covers the financial aid process, scholarships, and how to pay for college.

  • #CampusChat: Wednesday @ 9 PM EST. Talk about all things related to preparing for and attending college, from campus visits to admissions and college life.

  • #edchat: This is chat is continual and covers many different topics related to preparing for and paying for college.
